The REP reads the gripping drama Cooth & Sergeant’s Tavern, a two-act play probing the unsolved mysteries surrounding Edgar Allen Poe’s final days. Found incoherent in a Baltimore tavern, only Poe himself can speak to what may have happened. Audience feedback on E2C’s playwright-in-residence Melina Neet’s modern approach through representational theatre is welcomed. The play is scheduled for full production in Kansas City later this year.
